In December 2023 Anima became part of Brave11. Founded as a purely Ukrainian national initiative, Brave1 serves as a cluster for developing defense technology in Ukraine, providing financial, informational, and organizational support to developers, so the country can gain technological superiority over the enemy. Launched in April 2023 at the initiative of senior officials, including Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, Minister of Defense Oleksii Reznikov, and Minister for Strategic Industries Oleksandr Kamyshin – the project has received broad state-level backing.

“Our goal is for technologies to be born in Ukraine now, during the war and after victory – technologies that will help defend Ukraine and save the lives of service members of the Defense Forces,”
— Mykhailo Fedorov2.

The core mission of Brave1 is to create an efficient system for rapidly evaluating and deploying defense technologies developed in Ukraine. Through its unique platform, projects undergo military review to assess their potential and significance for the country’s defense capability; afterward they work with the Ministry of Defense to obtain the permits needed for operational use.

More than 120 military specialists and about 30 business experts take part in the project, ensuring comprehensive evaluation and support for innovative developments. Brave1 not only accelerates defense-tech progress in Ukraine but also acts as a venue for sharing knowledge and experience, underscoring the importance of technological independence and defense capability on the road to victory.

Anima Helps Soldiers Understand Their Condition

Anima provides free access to its tools for military personnel and people with special needs. Working closely with the armed forces, we refine our product and help move from subjective self-assessment to objective, data-driven analysis. This not only improves diagnostic accuracy but also allows clinicians to track changes in a person’s condition during treatment and adjust interventions accordingly. Our solution is already in use among Armed Forces officers, and we deeply appreciate their service.

Our team is also developing a specialized algorithm for diagnosing concussions by tracking eye movements while reading, the most accurate biomarker of mental state in cases of traumatic brain injury3. Data collection is under way at our partners’ facility, the “Lisova Polyana Center for Mental Health and Veteran Rehabilitation”. In the near future, this algorithm will be integrated into Anima, enabling veterans to better understand their condition and follow clear steps toward recovery.

“By recording unconscious shifts of attention, Anima pinpoints objective changes in mental state with high accuracy, assessing levels of anxiety and depression,” the team notes.

Anima strengthens psychological resilience and operational readiness. Its use is critical for preventing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other psychological injuries related to combat or extreme situations.
